ANALYSIS STUDENTS ABILITY IN LEARNING CONDITIONAL SENTENCES THROUGH SPEAKING SKILL AND THE CORRELATION BETWEEN CRITICAL THINKING AND SPEAKING SKILL

Abstrak

This study describes the ability to use conditional sentences on 5th and 7th semester students of the English Department at the Indonesian Technocrat University in 2023/2024. Problem in this research are: how is the ability of students in using conditional sentences? This study should determine students' ability to use conditional sentences and the most common students mistakes in the use of conditional sentences. The subjects in this study were 23 students of the English Department, Indonesian Technocratic University. To see common mistakes in using conditional sentences. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The results of the study showed that there were still difficulties in students' ability to use conditional sentences, namely lack of vocabulary, there were still mistakes in grammar, embarrassment when speaking in front of people, nervous when speaking, still having difficulty putting together the right words to say and also not confident when speaking in front of many people.
