SFL STUDY ON CNN ARTICLE: INDONESIA POLICE OFFICERS ARRESTED AFTER UK MAN KIDNAPPED

This study attempts to provide an analysis of SFL in an article chosen. This work aims to give insight of SFL in article entitled Indonesia police officers arrested after UK man kidnapped. The data in conducting this study taken from the article chosen and the writer applied descriptive qualitative method. The study shows that the article chosen has both Experiential Metafunction and Tenor/Interpersonal Metafunction. For Experiential Metafunction, it shows that that mental clause is the dominant one among others while in Tenor/Interpersonal Metafunction, all of the sentences contain declarative mood that functioned as a statement.
