AN ANALYSIS OF MICHAEL MANN'S 1992 FILM “THE LAST OF MOHICAN”

According to The Last of the Mohicans, the 1936 film version starring Randolph Scott and based on Philip Dunne's screenplay serves as the first conscious movie memory. It is also, of course, only influenced by books written by James Fenimore Cooper. Mark Twain wrote that Cooper's character is able to find a twig and step on it regardless of the difficulty whenever the plot requires twigs to be stepped on. Mann's film is a worthy successor to Randolph Scott's version and offers sufficient improvement over Cooper's book that no one could read. He has found the right actor to play Hawkeye in Daniel Day-Lewis, but Day-Lewis has never played a role like Hawkeye before (My Beautiful Laundry, My Left Foot, and A Room with a View). Only enough political and historical information is included;this movie in English, French, and Indian with a quick touch on the urgent conflict settler so they could continue with the true story that piqued our interest about winning the girl's heart.
